Georgioupolis is located halfway through the towns of Rethymno and Chania at the island of Crete.
It is the beginning of a 10km stretch of sandy beach.
The town is very attractive with it's small fishing harbour, the river and the long avenue of tall eucalyptus trees upon the village entry.
Impressive and beautiful scenery is backed by the panorama of the White Mountains.
A causeway from the beach leads you to the white, seaside tiny church of St. Nicholas, protector of the sea and fisherman.
